Bedse Caves N The Ghost Of...
I went a- roaming around pune after quite a long time..
It was a gang of 7.. + the unknown :)
The place was Bedse Caves .. 8-10 Km south of Rautwadi , where u reach by a Lonavla local..
Sunday dawned nice n sunny.. (its been raining every day for almost a month now..)
Waking up at 6.30 am to reach Shivajinagar by 8 am, on a sunday morning was the biggest
achievement !! (Bcoz sat night happened to be movie night.. :)
So we made it to the local, with a vada pav inside us.. :)
Plz note.. it being a sunday or our food being gulped by the unknown , we kept feeling
hungry at regular intervals ;)
The misal n samosa we had at a local joint turned out unexpectedly good.. n helped raise our
spirits for the on-foot journey..
The walk or rather climb to the caves was an interesting one..
Nice greenary n wild flowers all around.. Lots of waterfalls...
They added to the charm all over..
I dont kno about ghosts, but nature definitly cast a spell over us..
The locals kept warning us about the ghosts !! (I was wondering which one of us must that b)The caves were as all caves go..
cool n quiet with small chambers for meditation..
We had snacks at the spot n meditated on a lot of topics which included work , sports n of course Buddha !!
Not to forget we kept looking out for ghosts...
But hey the ghosts decided to give us a miss..
N we decided the 'Kaka' we met at the caves must have been the ghost.. :)He carried a 1 n half litre coke bottle, to which he had designed a handle of some kind with a rope..
The eerie caves made him appear spooky enough to b a ghost..
Then there was laughter n jokes n leg pulling aplenty to make the walk interesting.. On the return journey, we hitched a ride with some locals..
One of us was decent enough to actually run behind them n thank them..
The local train n then by a rick to MAthura hotel on JM Road..
Lunch at 3 has its own charm ;) If its 'modak' n buttermilk, can u beat it ??
I was dreaming of ghosts at 6 pm.. I guess the others must have crashed in bed too..
There ended the sunday...
As one of us quoted.. its the journey n not the destination that matters...
For us,, both the journey n destination is another memory to cherish..
